General description

After the automatic cable equalization stage, the input signal is optionally reclocked and provided at the outputs. The copy of the reclocked signal is then processed by a 3G-A/B, HD/SD SDI, DVB-ASI processor to detect the standard, to monitor the EDH/CRC status and to deembed any two groups of audio for monitoring (four channel pairs, eight channels totally). The deembedded audio is analyzed by 8-channel level meter (VU or quasi-peak). The audio level meter bargraph is overlayed on a TV picture provided at the HDMI monitor output. All stereopairs are presented in the HDMI signal, for monitoring the HDMI 1st/2nd channels represent the currently selected channel pair.

Controls and indicators

All the buttons and indicators are located on the frontal panel of PDVA-7338

The controls:

Toggling the MODE button select a menu entry. Pressing the UP and DOWN buttons edit a selected parameter.

The indicators:

  • LOSS – lit when an input signal is lost
  • EDH DET – lit when the valid EDH packets are detected in the input signal
  • EDH/CRC/ASI ERROR MIN/HOUR – lit when:
    • two or more SDI EDH error were detected within the last minute/hour interval
    • two or more 3G/HD SDI CRC error were detected within the last minute/hour interval
    • two or more SMPTE sync word errors were detected within the last minute/hour interval
  • ASI – lits to display the input signal's standard is DVB-ASI
  • AUD DET– lit when the valid audio packets are detected in the input signal
