Main / PROFLEX modular system / Racks

• a 1U / four slots rack with a backplane and the PFR-1UM power supply
• a 3U / seventeen slots rack with a backplane and the PFR-3UM power supply

If two power supplies are nesessary - the main one and the stand-by unit - an index "D" should be added to the order code.

Optionally available:

• a stand-by power supply unit for a 1U rack
• a stand-by power supply unit for a 3U rack

The PFR-1U and PFR-3U racks are used to house all PROFITT's compact audio/video devices. The PFR-1U rack accomodates up to four modules, the PFR-3U - up to fifteen. Each type of rack has the backplane that connects a frontal and a rear board of each module, connects a module to the signal/control busses and power supply lines, provides the global synchronization. An optional CPU board and optional RS-232/RS-485 interface adaptor can be fit into racks. A fan is located close to a power supply unit.

PFR-1U has 44x482x350mm dimentions, all modules are plugged in horizontally. PFR-3U has 132x482x350mm with vertical modules placement.

A rack's frontal side is covered with a folding plate that protects the local controls and indicators of the modules installed into a rack. A mains button, a sticker holder (for each module's description) are also located on the frontal side of a rack.

A rack's rear side consists of the rear panels of all modules with their connectors (two standard sizes: 20mm and 40mm), a power supply socket and ground connector plate. A pass-through global REF connector, RS-485/RS-232, GPI connectors are located on the rear. The connecrot types: the BNC for video and sync, the MiniDIN-4 for the S-video, D-Sub/BNC for the audio, the TP-8P8C for RS-485, the SUB-9D for RS-232, the SUB-9F/SUB-15D for GPI.

• two separate power supply units - the main one and the optional stand-by, the separate mains feeds allow for a fail-safe operation in case of a power dropout.
