PHDC-7301 HD/SD SDI aspect ratio converter |
PROFLEX™ PHDC-7301 HD/SD SDI crossconverters support all 20 standard aspect ratios including the high and standard definition TV. Any combination of input and output aspect ratio is available for Up-, Down- and Cross-convertion. Output signal may be synchronized to a REF (provided the REF and the output signals' standards are the same). Embedded audio is supported with the "audio delay follows video" capability. Built-in noise reduction unit, apperture corrector and video signal parameters presets (luminance, contast, saturation). Aspect rate conversion or Scalling with the preset and user-configurable (provided by request) modes.
The "4:3<->16:9" cross-convertion supports the following aspect ratios:

- letterbox:
The SD<->SD convertion is also possible with the following preset vertical/horizontal scale coefficients (mostly for correcting an input SD weirdly down-converted from HD):

Presets
The following presets are available:
- output signal delay/advance against the REF within ±850 Ft periods (FtHD=74,25MHz, FtPAL=27MHz) range on a TV line
- output signal delay/advance against the REF within ±50 TV lines in a TV frame
- noise reduction coefficient 0 to 63 (0 - noise reduction OFF)
- apperture correction coefficient 0 to 255 (0 - apperture correction OFF)
Controls and indicators
PHDC-7301 frontal panel
The MODE button toggles through all the modes, the UP and DOWN buttons edit them. A simultaneous depression of UP/DOWN button resets a parameter to the default value. The FREEZE button enables the frame freeze mode.
The indicators on the frontal panel:
- LOCK INP - lit when a valid SDI input signal is present
- LOCK REF - lit when a REF signal of the supported standard is present and the output SDI signal is locked to it
- FREEZE - lit when the frame freeze mode is enabled
- OUT STD SEL - displays the output signal standard
- TIMING H - displays the output signal's delay/advance to the REF within a TV line
- TIMING V - displays the output signal's delay/advance to the REF within a TV frame
- OUT NR - displays the noise reduction coefficient
- OUT SHARP - displays the apperture correction coefficient
- ASPECT RATIO - displays the aspect ratio convertion parameter

The remote control and management from a PC
All the “PROFLEX” modules are remote controllable from a PC. This facility is available if a rack is fitted with a CPU module (ordered separately).
