POTM-3252 series 8-channel STM16/SDH multiplexed SDI/ASI optical transmitters |
POTM-3252 optical transmitters provide the TimeDivisionMultiplexer of up to eight SDI or ASI electrical streams and one RS-422 to transmit over a single optical wavelength signal. POTM-3252 is intended to pair with the PORC-3272 optical receiver. The POTM-3252-STM modification conforms with the STM-16, ITU G.707 specification. POTM-3252 module occupies two slots in the PROLFEX 1U/3U racks so that up to two transmitters fit into a 1U rack and up to eight into a 3U rack.

- POTM-3252-CW## – 1270~1610nm with 20nm steps, CWDM DFB laser (## denotes a wavelength)

General description
POTM-3252 simplified schematics:
An input SDI or DVB/ASI signals are serialized by means of the TDM (TimeDivision Multiplexing). The serialized data is converted into an optical signal of a single wavelength which is available at the optical output.

The controls:
- TEST SEL – the type of the test-signal selection button
- CHANNEL – the channel number selection button to insert a test-signal to
- ON / OFF – test-signal ON/OFF in a selected channel
The indicators:
- REF – lit when the reference 2.048MHz is present
- LASER FAULT MAIN / STBY – lit if a malfunction with the main or stand-by laser is detected respectively
- TEST SEL BARS/PATHOLOGIC/ WHITE / BLACK – test-signal type indication ("color bars" = 1, "pathologic pattern" = 2, "white field" = 3, "black field" = 4)
- TEST SEL ON/OFF – lit when a test-signal is being inserted into a channel
- INP 1…8 – lit when a valid SDI/DVB-ASI signal is present on an input
Note: when a test-signal is being inserted into a channel - respective INP# indicator lits.
The remote control and management from a PC
All the “PROFLEX” modules are remote controllable from a PC. This facility is available if a rack is fitted with a CPU module (ordered separately). |
