CWDM is implemented for optical [de]multiplexing in 1470~1570nm or 1270~1410nm wavelengths ranges. Each video channel occupies one wavelength, an Ethernet channel always occupies two wavelengths. A built-in CWDM multiplexor/demultiplexor is used to combine all signals for communication via just one optical fiber.
Legend:
- #T - number of transmitters in a device
- #R - number of receivers in a device
- E - Ethernet 100/1000 capability
- 1F - single-fiber capability
- L - 1270~1410nm wavelengths range
Ordering example:
for site A: PBX-3T1RE1F (PBX-3T1RE1F-IP)
This device features three transmitters (3T), one receiver (1R), Ethernet support (E). Only one fiber needed (1F).
for site B: PBX-3R1TE1F (PBX-3R1TE1F-IP)
This device features three receivers (3R), one transmitter (1T), Ethernet support (E). Only one fiber needed (1F).
PBX-3T1RE1F-IP - the same device in a weather-proof case.

Indicators
- IN1, IN2, IN3, IN4 - green, input signal is detected
- RX fault - red, lits if no input signal is detected (input optical power drops below -25dBm)
- TX fault - red, lits if a laser malfunction is detected (output optical power drops below a threshold)
- OVERHEAT - red, lits if unit's internal temperature exceeds +70 °C
- POWER - red, power OK

Site A:
It takes two ProBox devices daisy-chained via UPGRADE (1310nm) port to handle eitht video channels with Ethernet.
The first box would handle four channels on 1470~1570nm, the second box - the other four channels on 1270~1330nm. The COM port of the second box connects to the UPGRADE port of the first one.
Site B:
For reception one can use any 1470~1570nm devices (either bidirectional or unidirectional) as the first device, the second one should be "-L" index without Ethernet support.
